Years 7-9

KS3 topics include: The Future School Project, The genre project (short stories), The Monster Hunter's Handbook, Caribbean Poetry, Poetry of World War One, The Shakespeare Project, Media Studies, A drama script project. In addition students study a Shakespeare text each year and two class readers each year as well as a number of extended poems such as "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner". Reading and writing skills are taught both discretely and integrally. There is also an emphasis on presentational skills, including handwriting.

GCSE

For GCSE students are entered for OCR English language and English literature

Post 16

Students follow the OCR English literature course.
