Protection Act |
Dear
Parent/Carer Firstly,
my sincere thanks to so many of you who have volunteered to help us as
examination invigilators next term. This is to be our trial period in
readiness for the essential change in the summer of 2005. On the theme of examinations, Im sure that
Year 11 and Year 13 students do not need reminding that they now have only
one more half-term of schooling before their final papers, and their
vigilance and effort over the coming weeks are essential. You can continue to play an important part
in the process by providing as much support as possible (whether in teaching
terms or just cups of tea!) during
this demanding time. In this
newsletter I would ask you to note in particular the statement covering the Data Protection Act and the
Freedom of Information Act. If you
have any questions, please let us know.
This
term sees the departure of Tony Collins, an assistant headteacher and a
member of the English department. Mr
Collins is taking up a new post in the planning department at Cambridge, and
we wish him well for the future. This
term saw us gain recognition as an ICT centre of high quality, when we were
given the NAACE mark (National Association of Advisers for Computing in
Education) for schools award, with many thanks in particular to Alan Davies
and Maggie Ashcroft for their efforts in securing this for St Ivo. Next
term opens to pupils and students on Tuesday, 20 April 2004.
I hope you have a very productive and relaxing holiday, and I thank
you for your continued support throughout this term. Yours
sincerely Michael
