I was
born in a concentration camp, so I am a Holocaust survivor, our visitor from
the Holocaust Memorial Trust told us.
She proceeded to show us old family photographs and describe her
mothers experiences and suffering in a series of concentration camps during
World War II. Year 11
GCSE and Year 12 AS Ethics students were stunned by the power of her story
and anti-racist message. She said that
the Jews either lost all their faith in the concentration camps or had it
strengthened. Her own story of
survival against all odds was a remarkable piece of oral history and
testimony of strength. Thank
you to Mrs Mitchelson for arranging this visit; unfortunately our visitor was delayed on
the A14 and was only able to talk briefly in Year 10 assembly. |
